Maybe the larger side was a refurbished caliper. I replaced a caliper on my old T once and the bleeder on the replacement was larger, even took a larger wrench. I can only assume that the bleeder hole had to be machined to the next larger size to establish new threads and seat surface.

That's just speculation on my part though.

the stock size is M7 x 1.0 on the front if the OP tries a M8 X 1.25,or maybe M10 X 1.50 to fit the bleeder hole

So I ended up just getting a new caliper. $100. Meh w/e. I think I could have possibly found a proper bleeder and it would have worked. The replacement I got had the right sized threads but I dont think the bottom of it was the right shape or long enough to seat. Didn't wanna keep dicking around driving into town and such. I can drive again and no leaks! :)

Cool. Wise choice. You can spend hours dinking around and going back and forth to the parts store or spend $100, get it done, know it's done right, and enjoy eating some good BBQ, drinking a beer, and hanging out with your woman.

They are so cheap, why not replace it...right? Frankly I was pleasantly surprised how inexpensive rebuilt 4-piston Toyota calipers were from Rock Auto and other retailers.

Hello, this question is off topic but has to do with Tacoma brakes, apologies in advance :) Does anyone know the bleeder screw size for the rear wheel cylinders on a 2009 2.7L base Tacoma? Thanks Mike
