Thanks to all the info in this thread...I'll be buying my kit soon. I wanted to ask if anyone has installed these oem lights, but added a switch for the bed? I really liked having a switch in my bed in my last taco. These look great, but I think I would prefer a switch in the bed.

Since the OEM kit ties into the existing cargo light in the 3rd brake light, I just use the cab switch it defaults to. I even have it set to come on whenever a door is opened.

I just did the install it's very simple. I would add a little black tape to the ends of the wires on the OEM kit. You will see them, after the sheath but before the connector.

I did not add a switch for the lights, I have one in the cab. Are you planning on adding adding one in the bed? If you do let me know what you come up with for a mod. Here's a switch from Amazon you might be interested in, fits in the panel.

Researching this for my 2020 SR double cab 4x4, and it seems the instructions have a typo.
    http://toyotaparts.sparkstoyota.com/install/PT857-35200inst.pdf

Step 5 says go to step 6 and 7 to install switch and relay if I don’t have a cargo light switch. There is no step 6! It goes from 5 directly to 7. So step 7 must be 6 and 8 is 7. It says proceed to step 8 if I have the switch. I have a switch so that probably means go to step 9, not 8, to reconnect battery and so I probably won’t need a relay from what I've read on all of the other posts, but I’ll be checking anyway with a multimeter before ordering since some have had issues with missing connectors.

Wondering if I really need to disconnect battery if all I’m doing is connecting the wiring harnesses for the two bed lights and there’s no power in the circuit? Disconnecting battery may be necessary only when working on a switch and relay.

After installing a low pro cover, I realized its dark in the bed. I installed the OEM bed lights, took about 10 min after watching A video. Very easy, quite bright. Run off the switch in the dash

Is the relay part # correct? Fuel pump relay?

Thanks for the info and great info! Did this on my SR today without a hitch. I bought the relay but didn't need it as it was already installed. If you need the relay, hit me up!

I did the OEM kit today on my 2020 SR 4x4, took about 20 mins. Light kit, switch, no relay. Works great

Love that they added this for 2020. Already have the kit on order.

If your 2020 access cab is like mine, there is no cargo light switch in the dash. So, yes, you will need the cargo light switch and the relay.

Rear sliding window, intermittent wiper switch, center console tray, glove box organizer shelf, WeatherTech front mats and mud flaps, 3D MaxSpider behind-the-front-seats mat, bed lights, MESO climate control rings, XPEL tailgate protection, Desertdoesit.com seat jackers, RAV4 radio knobs, glove box letters.
My 2020 SR has the relay but not the switch. I did buy and install the switch.

I stand corrected. I just installed the switch and bed lights and the relay was already in the panel.

Is there way of knowing if I need the relay or not? I don’t have the switch for sure but can I open it up and see if I already have a relay or if I would need to buy one?

Yes. Simply remove the panel and look. If it's there, no relay is needed.
