    Hello Tacoma World!
So let me start off by saying that I have had my Tacoma for about 3 years now and never thought of it as something other than a truck to be used occasionally to haul stuff around. I always thought it would be cool to have bigger tires and have it lifted but more for looks than functionality. About 2 months ago my co worker took me on my first overland trip to Big Bear where we stayed at one of the yellow post sites for the weekend. I fell in love with it. Driving somewhere secluded that other people can't get to was an amazing experience. It was also my first time camping somewhere like that. After that trip I immediately got a truck bed tent and a few other camping things like a portable stove, nice cooler, etc.. So we went back two weeks after the first trip and I realized this is something that I would want to invest in. As of right now the only mods, if you can call them that, that I have done to my truck is plasti dipped the front grill and the Tacoma emblems on the sides, removed the 4x4 and SR5 emblems, and got led headlights. I am looking to slowly build up my truck into something more functional for overlanding. This will be a huge learning experience for me also because I know little to nothing about cars/trucks or anything automotive, but I am looking to learn! I've been reading threads on here for a few weeks now so this should be fun to finally be a part of TW. Look forward to speaking with everyone!
I am going to include some pictures so you guys can see. I will also include a picture of my co workers truck so you can see why I am so interested in building up my truck.

If you wanna do outdoors stuff with your truck id recommend a leveling kit / or lift kit to give you some more clearance. And probably a bigger wheel and tire setup. And if you really want a truck that is out doors machine I’d get a metal bumper and a winch. Hell even a roof rack. Anything you add to these trucks just looks awesome and you can really make them super capable of anything! I have some of those mods I just said on mine if you wanna look at my Tacoma to see what the mods look like

Thanks for the welcome messages guys!
I've been looking at a lot of options on what to upgrade first and it seems like everyone says that the first mod should be bigger tires. But then once I have that, depending on how big I go, it seems like I need to get a lift kit to go along with it. There are so many options out there and so much to learn its almost overwhelming. I'll post pictures as I go along to show what I am doing. It'll be a slow build but I am definitely looking forward to it!

    QUESTION
I am pulling the trigger on a new set of tires. After a lot of research I finally decided on the size 265/75/16. I am only going 1 size up because I don't want to have to do any type of cab mount chop. I plan on eventually doing a 2.5 inch in the front and 1inch in the back to get a more level look. As you can see I am not doing anything drastic to my truck because I want to keep the geometry pretty stock and don't want to have to start messing with other things I don't know about. That being said I am getting new tires but am planning on keeping the same wheels because I have a budget.
So my question is this. The stock wheels have a +24mm offset, will I have any rub with the new tires?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You shouldn't have any problem clearing 265/75/16 tires:)

I did it. Got some new shoes for Taco here. After a lot of research I landed on Falken Wildpeaks AT3W size LT265/75/16. I’ve had them less than a week and put on about 300 miles on them. Nothing off road just yet but they feel great on road. And I can happily say there is no road noise. I was going 80 on the freeway and heard nothing. They definitely look a lot better and I can’t wait to take them on some decent trails.
