Hi everyone, this is my first thread on this forum, sorry if it gets too long winded.

I bought a 2003 4x4 2.7l auto 151k for my 16 yr. old about 3 weeks ago. The engine was replaced last yr with a 96k miles 2.7l by a Toyota dealer, engine now has 101k. I have the receipt for this.

Check engine light was on with a p0172 and p0301.

After noticing all the new Toyota parts on the egr system, fuel filter and pressure regulator I decided to take a look into the injectors.
When I pulled em out, I noticed #1 injector was much cleaner and looked a bit different than the other 3. I decided I would swap #1 and #2 and see if misfire moves. It did.
Side note: all 4 specd good for resistance. The 3 specd 12.2 ohms, the newer looking 1 specd 13.4. My research began.

Long story, urm, short. MotorWest was out of pink tops so I ordered from an online Toyota dealer....Ouch.

It came today and looks 100% like the one it's replacing and specd at 13.4 ohms. I decided to put it in cylinder #4 and guess what happens next. Yup, p0304 and p0172. Oh, all new seals and orings on all 4 of course.

Are these newer injectors putting out more fuel than the originals? I'm convinced I now have 2 new(er) injectors from Toyota that don't jive with this truck.
    What do you guys think?

This is what mine look like too.

What else I noticed are the 12 holes on the old injectors look more precise in shape or more squared up and spaced. All 5 say Aisan. Also, the stamped product number on all 5 read 23250-75080. However, the 2 newer ones DO have the 3 character inspection code just under the product code. The 3 older ones, which I believe to be original, do not have the inspection code.
I'll try to get pics next time I pull em. For now, my son is driving it.

Here is a pic of the injector I removed. It looks identical to the one I bought from an online Toyota dealership.

12 hole nozzle. Holes don't look as "perfect" as the originals

50/ea is on the edge of being suspiciously cheap.

Several of us have had good luck with the Intermotor brand. I got mine on rockauto.

Not sure what to think about the photos, I know my old ones looked better than that though. Hmm.

Called MotorWest and spoke with Martin. He had 4 flow matched injectors for $150 + shipping. I put em in, disconnected the battery for 20 minutes or so then went for a 7 mile drive plus freeway.
No check engine, no codes pending. It idles smooth and feels responsive.
I'm glad there is an alternative to the outrageously priced oem's and the chinese garbage!

A few pics for you guys.

    Toyota injectors:
New on top, original on bottom. The 12 holes look different to me but probably don't make any difference.
