So, finally took out my OEM 2020 TRD Sport and got my BF KO2 33’s on TRD rims installed, but notice TPMS sensor is not reading anything. Talked to my dealership since they were the ones who sold me the new wheels and tires, but they mentioned TPMS don’t come by default in new tires, client would need to pay extra (absurd since they never asked about it when I purchased. So my question is: To save money getting new ones from the dealer or buying aftermarket ones, is it possible to take old wheels to a tire shop and ask them to uninstall the sensors and install in my new tires?

Your truck came with tpms sensors on those wheels. Getting new tires should not affect that one bit. They should have swapped them over

You can have them swapped over from old rims. Or if you’d like I Can sale you 4 for 100$ plus shipping.

    You could.

If you want to do it quick, there's always the ghetto bead breaking method.
    https://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-tire-bead-breaker/

I've been doing that for about 15yrs.

    :D

Since only one bead needs popped, it won't throw the balance off.

You can also get a second set of sensors and program the IDs with the Carista app or TechStream.

looks like someone is a idiot you shouldn’t have to ask any tire place or The dealer to transfer TPMS over onto the new wheels before installing the tires it’s common sense when my Sema 17” trd pro wheels came in at the Toyota dealer they transferred them over didn’t ask & they have to kits to move them over seals so to warranty them from leaking that is part of paying for mounting and balancing charges so you don’t get a Flashing light on the dash

Take it back to where you had the tires installed and tell them to do their job right. They should have pulled the old sensors and placed them in the new wheels without even being asked.

Yep, you WOULD think it’s common sense but had a similar incident at the dealership once. I made them go back and do it right, obviously they didn’t like that so they tried to charge an extra $200 in labor. Key word “tried”. Never went back to that dealership.
