I bought 2010 Tacoma 4 years back, the headlights had the amber plastic melted and broken. I asked the dealer to replace them as part of the purchase. Well the same thing has happened again and they have a light smoke on interior of lenses. I'm happy with the light output they have but want to replace them with something that the amber won't melt and break into pieces again. I don't want high dollar replacements only something that's equivalent or better and reliable that won't give me trouble.
Have any of you experienced this and what did you do or replace with.
    Thank you, Stan

There was a TSB (now expired) for melting near the DRL that had dealers replace the headlight housings with a new design that didn't have the melting issue. I would assume your dealership just replaced them with the older design, hence your issues. Bummer.

As for replacing your housings, this issue has been discussed many, many times in the Lighting sub-forum here. The honest truth is that no aftermarket housing comes close to the performance and durability of OEM housings. Sure, they may look cool, but that's about it. I'd suggest new OEM housings and you'll find out why and what the part numbers are in the very informative post below.

Thank you, I like the original housings light output also. I'm not going back to my dealer and take a chance on another bad pair. Wish I knew if a new part number is used, or anything like that.
That link is good, I put one of those harnesses on my Silverado a few years ago, it made the oem bulbs much whiter, loved it. Don't know if I'd do it to my Tacoma, I just want clearer lenses right now.

The headlights with the plastic lenses have a 1” square diffuser in the middle of the lens. The headlights with the glass lens don’t have the diffuser. The part numbers for the glass lens headlights are in the ultimate headlight upgrade thread.

The part numbers with links for the correct parts to buy are posted in the linked thread, along with the actual Toyota TSB covering the issue and also containing all the part numbers.

I just bought two from Headlights America, $103 each, and mounted them last week. https://tinyurl.com/yxn98wlb Meanwhile, I'll refurb the old smoked ones.
