I'm having a hell of a time making a decision on a new set of tires. I'm thinking the cooper xlt, but there's not that many reviews on them. Seems like a great all around tire that offers more then the ko2. Cooper xlt only has 2 ply side walls though... I like the ko2, but hear they're not great in wet conditions and snow. I will be getting a vagabond drifter camper in the next few months which adds 340 pounds and then add gear and it might be over 1,000. I spend a lot of time in the sharp rocky desert, Sierras, snow, rain, etc, so I plan on getting e rated 285/75r16

    What do y'all think?

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
I've never had an issue on wet roads with my KO2s, and I'm coming up to 55k miles on them.
I'd buy them again if I can find a deal on them. Been waiting for some new Jeep owner to sell his 285s take offs. The KO2 in your size are 3 ply sidewall.
The Coopers are a good tire as well.

Had the ko2s on my truck and was never an issue. They grip the the road, wet or dry better than the cooper stt pros I have on the truck now.

Here is a chart taken from tirerack for all terrains in that size. Looks like the Cooper XLT is a little higher rated.

Look at miles reports for BFG’s in that charge. It demolishes the other ones. Way more reviews and Miles on those because they really are a very good tire. They are the king of A/T tire for a reason. They work well in any terrain.

Which version of the KO2? There is a reason that they have done a compound change and a none 3 peak mountain snowflake version since they released it.

Thanks for all the input y'all. I decided to go with the old standard the ko2. I've never had a set, so I figured I should try em'. There's tons of reviews and lots of good information on them too. So far I like them, but have only driven on dry pavement. The cooper looks like a fantastic tire, but there wasn't much info on them + none of the shops had them. 20200504_182825.jpg

My .02, used to run BFG's on 3 Tacos over the years because thats what the standard was. Run Cooper ST Maxx and AT3's now exclusively. They blow the BFG performance in the wet snow/ice away.
