Does it offer any benefits over 2.0?
I have not looked much into VF tuner since 2.0 dropped.

So for real, or is this a joke? If for real, why do you say that?

it was real at the time.

I needed to swap computers. It’s easy with the dongle, just install the software and flash.

without the dongle, computer must be registered and take a few days.

take your 2.0 and remove throttle limits in first gear, smooth out peaky power moments, and adjust voltage levels for AGM battery health. that's what many MTs are doing right now, and we're evolving into more. this is the beginning. but i was also satisfied with 2.0. more satisfied now.

Yeah, but these tune edits are friggin' sweet. No bit of dongle makes up for that in my mind?

I guess I am a little hesitant to mess something up changing values. What are these throttle limits in first gear?

Nothing really.. I modified that map again and made it completely linear and modified the throttle limit by gear tables the truck feels as direct as it ever has now. I did end up testing Matts example file with the added gear lock and maxing out the first gear throttle limits and I came up with the same results as you. I can get full throttle at any RPM in any gear but its still limited in 1st gear.

1st gear on the example file:

    Every other gear:

Do you have a picture of the map now? I haven't made mine completely linear yet but the change I made has seems to make the throttle more responsive as you keep digging into the throttle. I need to compare my logs but haven't had time yet.

My 1-3rd locking S maps for my 04A61 were set to 255.999 in all fields by default when I loaded the Premium_33_thx file. I changed my 4th gear S2 to 255.999 across the board and raised 4th and 5th gear locking 2 maps for the first 4-5 cells by 5.

I ran a similar tune like this one a few days ago and I didn’t see my temps get that high but my mileage dropped like 1-2 mgs, which is understandable for the day I was driving it.

Does anyone with an automatic transmission have any logs showing full throttle in first gear? My truck doesn't get full throttle in first gear as well.

@OVTune Do you know any older tunes for 04A61 that should get full throttle in first gear that I can try and log?

Hasn’t 1st gear full throttle been covered? You need to also modify the air load tables. And 100% is really like 85% so the flapper doesn’t get stuck open. And fully closed is like 15.

Are there files that users are modifying for specific results? Does vf tuner has general guides on what to changes to achieve a specific result?

Yes it has been discussed but no remedy. I have modified the air load tables, etc. First gear never changes.

@Mooseditty17 is the AT tuning wizard. I’ll defer to him
