Forgive me, I know I don't post much here, but I am not trolling. I've briefly searched on this board for this issue, but haven't really seen anything like my issue, which I've been wanting to post here for a while now, but the dealer is not helping.

I bought a brand new 2017 TRD Sport brand new 3.5 years ago. The issue is that during acceleration, the engine will start to squeak as if a wild pack of monkeys are howling. Only during acceleration. The issue is intermittent, and seems to really take place in the spring or fall. The dealer will only look at when its replicating the issue. At 36,000 miles or so, was when it first took place and they replaced the serpentine belt. The old belt looked completely fine. I then took it in a time or two, and they couldn't replicate. Then, 4-5 months ago, at around 54,000 miles or so, they replicated the issue, and replaced tensioner pulleys.

2 months ago, it started doing again, but not consistent. Dealer wouldn't touch. Now, its doing it again both last night and this morning after about 20 mins of driving....

Any ideas? Should I complain to Toyota corporate? I love this truck, but enoughs enough. They should be able to resolve this by now. I just want it resolved for good so I can go about enjoying it like I have.

Any opinions/advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

It doesn't seem like the dealer is very helpful. Can you try another? I'd let a different service dept have a shot before you go to corporate or get rid of it.

It is hard for anyone to fix a problem when it isn't acting up but your type of issue can really only be coming from one or more of the pulleys your belt wraps around and should be simple enough to take care of even through trial & error.

Most shops would be happy to take on your problem - it's like the Dr. Office: we'll try this.....if it doesn't fix your problem, we can try that.

All the while charging you for the process.

Might also be things like a bad alternator pulley. You really need to try and possibly have the hood up rev the engine and have someone listen to where the sound is coming from. If you are even marginally mechanically inclined it should no be too hard to find the sound location. I you can post a vid of the sound several might chime in with suggestions. Some might be useless, but it also may point the way to the problem. Like mentioned in an earlier post I would not go back to that dealer. Maybe spring for a good independent to look at it.
