About a year ago I replaced a wheel bearing with a Dorman assembly since I needed it quick. Two months ago I hit a nasty pothole and I got a god awful squealing noise from the front end, but it went away after coming to a stop.

Now in the last week I'm getting the noise fairly often after I hit a bump or make a turn. The noise changes with wheel speed. It is not affected by accelerating, braking or turning. Usually the only way to make is stop is to bring the truck to a complete stop. The noise seems to be from the driver front wheel area, it is not nearly as loud from the passenger side.

Tomorrow I plan on jacking the truck up. I feel like this is probably a wheel bearing issue, but wanted to see if there is anything else I should rule out in the wheel hub or axle area.

I've attached a link to the video so I can get your opinions.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me, I recently had to replace mine it is kinda easy if you know what you are doing. Just look up a youtube video and it should go pretty smooth. I do recommend a sliding hammer as it will make your life a lot easier to get the old one-off. I am not a mechanic myself I am only 22 years old with youtube access haha. Best of luck to you, if you need any help let me know. I also recommend that if it is a wheel bearing you buy the whole wheel hub as you will need a press to get the new bearing in and the old one out.

That is a terribly annoying sound lift the truck, take the wheel of and spin it by hand, should give you a good idea if the bearing is failing..

Like MrEcho said, fairly easy job, i dobt think alot of suppliers sell the bearing alone, all pre-pressed in hub from factory.

Go for a koyo or skf.. or OEM if you have a chunky wallet

    Good luck

Update: I think it is coming from the inner wheel hub seal. It appears to have dislodged and is spinning with the axle. Going to replace it when I get a chance and see if all is well before I resort to bearings.

Ignore the grease smeared around the seal, that was my attempt to make it less noisy until I get it fixed.
