Ahhhh.. No, no science haha. I tested a version that matched the accelerator to throttle for all gears and the first couple of gears were way too touchy so I slowly ramped those up and kept the 4th and the overdrives linear.

Wi-Flash cables are being setup right now, our dev on it had to add a few extra things to the firmware including auto protocol detection, because the tacoma uses a different com protocol than other toyotas...

Hahaha! At times, I wonder if Toyota didn't sub out the ECU work to FCA.:rofl:

    Hey, Mat.

With it being discovered that the unedited Air Load Control maps are the same between 04B04 and 04B14, I just flashed these up. I don't have many miles on yet, but it feels very good!

I did smooth out a couple of the minor creases because, well, you started this. :D

    Thanks!

In total, my current tune is:
-- Baseline: 04B14 SFOB Prem with 87 octane
-- 1st and Reverse Torque Limits at 100% in all modes
-- CC set a 10kph - Does not seem to work.
-- Speed Limiter set at 312kph
-- ALC is smoothed 04B04 Example
-- Both available Cold Start maps set at 900rpm

can't find info, just a mention, of the two Cold Start Maps. what's the deal? and is your edit 900 all values, including high rpm?

Sorry, I don't have my computer with me. There are two Cold Start / High Idle 2D maps. About mid-way down? One is noted for "Drive" and the other is noted for "Park."

Yes. I set all values to 900 and have only one cold start in ATM. It seemed better, but I need more to know for sure as the initial idle was slightly over 1k and it was variable at the first stop sign. I usually catch a light right when leaving in the afternoon. I should know more then.

i see the maps, i'm wondering what's the motivation for altering these? oops missed the second part of your reply. but to clarify, too high for too long for your preference, runs rough? or something else?

Will your tune adapt to 89 octane or is it premium only?

Since I was a kid, I hated a couple things about cars. Excessive High Idle and having to use the key to get power windows to work.

On stuff that I have control over, mainly my bikes, I set the cold start idle just to what it needs to keep running for the moment that I takes me to get rolling. About 100rpm or so over normal idle?

With cars, I'm either taking it easy getting out of the garage and coasting down the road to the first stop where the hard pull of high idle isn't appreciated. Same for sitting at a stop light in the afternoons. It seems silly to me, watching the motor rev at 1,500?

That's just me though, and I appreciate the ability to edit / test this.

thanks, just getting clear on the thinking. i have my own weird thing with that. i have always made it a habit to let the idle drop as designed/programmed before loading the engine. even when it's a bit warm and high idles, i will wait for it to drop before engaging. funny. i'm gonna keep these values stock for now.
