Love my 04 Tacoma, My daily driver. About 3 months ago it started skipping. Codes indicated #1 misfire. When I looked the bolt that holds the coil pack in was missing. Must have vibrated loose. I replaced it. Still skipping. So I replaced the #1 coil pack and all 4 plugs as it had 170k and likely needed new plugs anyway. All was good for about 3 months. 2000 or so miles including one long trip. Now it has started again. Scan says #1 & #4 misfire. So I replaced the other 3 coil pacs. No help. I had my buddy come over and help. He said to replace 1 & 4 sparkplug. I must have gotten 2 bad ones, and added a can of seafoam because the fuel injectors could be clogged. I ordered 4 new Denso fuel injectors to install. The seafoam isn't helping. Any ideas? Could bad or clogged fuel injectors make it clock misfire errors?
    Thanks.

    What motor do you have?

Yes, fuel injectors can cause misfire but so can a few other things like egr components.

Where did you purchase your injectors?

diagnosing a misfire without checking to see if the motor is mechanically sound first is a waste of time and money. do a compression test and if all readings are within 10% of each other then proceed. when was the last time the valves were checked/adjusted?

I neglected to mention. I changed the EGR valve when I did the plugs. I believe it is a filter to let the engine "breathe"

Somewhat related, what's the cylinder numbering order on the v6? I think its 1/3/5 on passenger side, front to back, and 2/4/6 on drivers side front to back?

Okay. I am thinking the count is from front to back. 1-2-3-4. Right? I have an old compression checker from years ago with a round meter at one end, but I don't think it will fit down in the hole. Maybe time to look for one made for this application.
I ordered some Denso reman injectors from ebay. They should be here in about a week. It says it will fit an 04 Tacoma with a 2.4. But I have some doubts. Part number 23250-75080. It says 2.4 or 2.7. I guess I'll see when they get here. When you say photos, do you mean the plug tips? They were pretty clean, even the ones with 170k.
    Thanks guys....
