Long Travel Suspension kit? What does this mean?

    I've been seeing a lot of people talking about long travel suspension kits. I'm not entirely sure what this means compared to other suspensions?

    I mean from the name, I just think it's better for long travel? lol. At the same time, I'm sure there's more to it. I'm thinking about upgrading to suspension eventually but want to understand what is the difference?

    Would it be better to choose a long travel kit? Can someone help explain? Thanks!

    Better is subjective and the setup you will require depends on your usage. 98% of tacomas will perform great with mid travel suspension.

    Price difference.. $2000-$2500 for mid travel all 4 corners, minimum $5000 for just the front LT components...

    Ahhhh ok. So it looks like LT is for prerunner builds. Got it!!! Yeah, i'm definitely part of the 98%.

    Yeah mostly prerunner. There are a handful of "overland" builds with LT but very few. Here is possibly my favorite build of all time. He basically breaks all of the "rules" and meshes LT with his overland rig.
