Since all of you guys are building fun stuff, I guess I’ll try to finish a couple of benches that I bought material for a while back. But I have to fix the sink in the pool house first. Being a home owner can be a pain in the ass. But at least it’s mine and paid for.

 

Aslo FYI, Bosch replacement bandsaw blades for the small Ryobi are crap....just broke the original and tried the Bosch pack, the middle blade which i use a lot is garbage, did a couple cuts and id had better luck with a hacksaw...The smallest blade is ok but seems like its getting dull after a few small cuts. Ill see how it goes

 

Found my bottle openers work for paint cans also...

 

What do you guys think is a fair price to sell this serving spoon? I have $10 , into it for the pecan wood blank and some change for the coating.

 

For a general purpose blade i like Timber Wolf PC (positive claw).

 

Cost of materials x 2 plus 25% $25 is how I do it.

I know man. Its hard to figure small stuff. It takes a lot of love and work to make it flow and look right, but getting someone to pay for them is hard. That bowl should be about 40 dollars, but they sell online for about 25, then other ones are 60. Who knows??? I just price stuff and if it sells great, if not oh well, I always have someone in my family or friends that enjoys a gift. I think if I did this stuff for money I wouldnt love it like I do.

 

Yep, plus i cant nor want to compete with big box store prices. I like to make enough to pay for materials, but usually bite the labor. I do make enough most the time to make a little profit. Otherwise id be losing money

 

I have a big log of persimmon wood out side. Trying to spalt it. I will post some pictures when I get some bowls made.

I don't know, never heard of that. I thought copper killed fungus, and fungus is what causes spalt.
