Figured I'd share my experience with everyone.

I felt that adding a Focal Flax 6.5s upfront and a JL 10TW3 I would make a major difference. WRONG! The factory JBL amp EQ is literally trash! And the LC7 that I had didn't fix it(oh well, I bought it used for $60), it only amplified the trash. Luckily I found the Fix86 on OfferUp for a deal. I'm not looking for the ultimate sound quality but let's be honest, who wants to pay for just an "OK" sounding system.

This was a semi budget build because well.. I'm poor. I'm willing to spend some bread, just not a ton on the sound system. The majority were purchased used.

Focal Flax PS165FX 6.5 component up front $220 used
Infinity REF 6.5 coaxial still running off the factory amp $70 new
JL 10TW3 150 used - came in the original prefab
Mr. Marv birch enclosure and amp rack
    JL Fix86 - $150 used
Kicker CXA600 mono $80 new BBY discount
Pioneer GM-DX874 full range $220 new
Metra 4 gauge OFC kit $60 new BBY discount
Amazon basic RCAs I think it was like 15 bucks new

I am extremely happy with the sound. Everything just sounds cleaner. It could use time alignment but nothing to lose sleep over.

Prior to the FIX86, the bass was very heavy, even with the bass knob turned all the way down. The Focals Mids up front sounded like it was buried underwater if I turned it up to high.

Now after the Fix86 going through the calibration process, everything sounds more natural. Muddyness is completely gone. Today was the first day(in a while) I was nodding my head HEAVY in my truck. I listened to classic rock, old school Rnb, old and new age hip-hop, and wow, I haven't enjoyed music like this in a very long time. I don't listen to my music quiet either, around 40-45 is perfect with all my windows down.

I knew the factory was EQ was bad.. but not this bad. Enough of me going on.. I'm finally happy with my system.

I have a fix86 on a 2013 jbl. I am noticing that when the volume is lower so people can talk, the sound cuts out. If I switch audio to fm and back to usb the sound comes back. Wondering if you may have the same problem?

I have never seen an OEM system that was setup great. Usually the stereo system is an after thought and just tossed in.

Yes it does, I just turn the volume up a couple it’ll fire it back up. It’s probably best to use the switched 12v signal vs signal sense.
