I ordered Old Man Emu kit for a 2016 Toyota Tacoma from Wheeler's off-road Inc. I just installed it about a month or two ago and I noticed last night that the leaf springs brackets are all bent up. I have not done any hard Offroad or had anything over 200-300 pounds in the bed total. I could tell because it was making a grinding noise then I looked, The leaf springs hit the frame(I added pics) due to being higher than the bump stop but everything is stock and no weight on top of the bed. Looks to be a manufacturing defect or wrong part.I have posted on forms and facebook asking for help last night and everyone said that the brackets were too high. Everything was installed and torque to spec. I did notify customer service from ARB this morning and they requested that I send picture. I sent a ton of pictures and the guy on the phone did not know. I know some other people had issues with these leaf packs. Anyone have any idea it should’ve never hit the frame and be bent like this on both sides. Thanks

It looks correct in your photos but are you sure you have them installed with the front at the front? Maybe you didn't shim the bump stop up enough?

I don't know that the assembly is right or wrong. That bracket has to be long enough that it doesn't prevent the pack from flexing on down travel.

looking at mine, they would 100 percent hit the frame if truck went super low on the inboard side of the brackets.. outside it clean of the frame...... hmmmm but no issues off-roading...

Yea you have to cut off the Brackets, Even on the new ones that just came out in 2020. No way around it other than cutting them off it’s not that hard. Frames on tacos are different and that’s why on some off the 3rd gen it will hit. Less than 10% of tacos will this happen. ARB was very nice to deal with. Talked to tech support for a few weeks back and forth. They said the brackets were redundant and didn’t even need them.
