    Just, an fyi.
I read of this on TW a few months ago from I don't remember.

Put 1/4" OD 1/8" ID vinyl tubing around under your door gaskets.

I bought a 10' length from HD for ~$5 and put it around my driver door and it made a difference.

So I went to Amazon and bought 100' for ~$15 and did the rest of the doors.

It made a bigger difference to quiet wind noise then putting matting on the skin of the doors.

My girlfriend has a '16 CX5, 6 speed auto. I like it quite a bit. It's the 2.5, though and has just enough power where it doesn't feel underpowered but also isn't powerful enough to be much fun.

Ha, my job should have nothing to do with that (I'm a school district technology director), but I feel like I end up involved in everything. I'm working with a local locksmith to have the perimeter of one of our buildings rekeyed to coincide with adding doors to the access control system and I've learned how tough our Schlage Primus keys are to get. I guess the plus to that is if it's more tightly controlled this time instead of handing them out like candy, we'll know nobody made a copy.

I found out there's a GGMK built into the system that was never issued, so we're just going to key to a higher level and reissue GGMKs to those who absolutely need them. I have to get into people's heads that whoever planned the system and decided to not issue the top level master 20 years ago helped us out with a cheap easy solution, but if it gets out of control again we either need to rekey hundreds of cylinders which would be much more expensive or go with separate exterior and interior keys which I think police and fire would frown upon.

Haha yeah locksmiths often do this, it makes everything easier down the line if something bad happens. Better to have and not need then need and not have!

We had a 2016 CX-5 for about 8 months. I really liked it. The only knock I had on it was the exhaust / engine was a little loud when you got on it, but that was fine coming from louder cars. I had done a bunch of the OEM accessories and planned to keep it for a decent amount of time. My only regret was not getting the LED headlight package. It was fun to fling around, got excellent gas mileage like you mentioned and I honestly loved the radio setup with the dial on the console.

I dug the LED DRL kit I added to it, though.

    Then this happened:
[IMG]IMG_0612 by Mike M, on Flickr

Second non-at fault total loss accident of the year. Go me! I had new car replacement so we got about $3,000 more than we paid for it new and we bought the JGC. My wife had wanted a JGC since she was 16 and with the deal we got with our insurance payout it made sense to make the jump. I added Maxcare and outside of a CEL at 1,100 miles for EGR we've had nary an issue up to almost 45,000 (knock on wood).

My girlfriend's is the same year and color. It's a touring with the Bose, sunroof, nav, and LED lights. She is supposed to be getting new headlights due to a recall but they are backordered. The DRLs flicker.

It is a little noisy on startup, my only other real gripe with it is how oddly optioned it is. The thing has rain sensing wipers, blind spot monitoring, premium sound, LED lights, keyless start, but no heated seats or mirrors.

We didn't get the Touring Technology Package (with the LED head lamps, rain sensing wipers) but we did get the Bose and moonroof. The heated seats was a Grand Touring only deal until the 2016.5 mid-year change. I had planned on adding the heated seats. I honestly forget about the mirrors. It was a great little SUV. The wife and I were actually pretty dead set on the CR-V originally. We went to the auto show in Boston and Mazda did a drive and ride and it changed our perspective 100%. The new CX-9 is really nice and is at least on the table for whatever replaces the Jeep. I love the interiors in the new Mazdas. I don't know if the materials will hold up over time, but they're very, very attractive.

Interesting about the DRL flicker. I have actually noticed a few CX-5s on the roads with the DRLs out.

So I text my wife to measure the pipe so I can pick up all the stuff at Home despot...and of course she "measured" a 2" pvc pipe...I get home with all the stuff for a 2" coupler...and it's 1.5" pvc...I have no idea... :annoyed:

Yeah, I want to put heated seats in it for her but I can't find a good opportunity where it would be a surprise. If she would drive my truck I could probably conveniently take a day off and say "hey, yours is due for an oil change, take my truck to work and I will do that today" then do the heated seats too. But she's terrified of driving mine--I think because she knows how expensive it is and she is nervous about hitting something. I am trying to get her there little by little.

    OD instead of ID?

I had a hatchback Mazda 3 with the 2.5. I regret trading it in and should have kept it with the truck. That car was the shit. I want one again. It got the same mileage as the truck.

correction. When I drove it, I got the same mileage as the truck.

Well...no because she told me the OD was 2 1/4....and ID was 2...but it's clearly 1.5...I'm not even going to bring it up...I'm just going to buy the correct pipe tomorrow
