    What’s up everyone,
I recently bought a 2016 access cab 4cyl. It is all stock at this point but I am wanting to do several things to it. Starting with a lift and wheels/tires. I am trying to figure if I want a 3-4 or 6 inch lift. I will not be taking it off road much, for sure nothing major... it is mostly for the look of it. I would like to run 33s or 35s on some of the nice TRD 16” wheels I’ve seen recently. I am not sure what kit to get for my needs and could use some help. Price is a factor for me, I don’t want to invest thousands of dollars, but understand that quality costs a little more. Help me out here. Thank you!

    Welcome to TW Drew
Any lift over 3" will cause drivetrain issues and 33s will rub without body modifications.

First of all, Thank you very much for the reply! What can I do to overcome the Drivetrain issues? I am a journeyman electrician so I have some basic knowledge but I am not much of a mechanic. I don’t mind doing whatever I need to do to do it the RIGHT way. I don’t want anything janky that will F up my truck but I do want to give it a better look. I figured the best thing I could do is ask people who have experience. Let me post a couple pictures of what I would like to do with my truck and maybe someone can help me figure how best I can get something similar

Welcome to TW! I might start a shit storm but, I have a 4 inch drop bracket lift on my truck for 2 1/2 years now with no issues. Get a good off- road shop to do the install and you should be fine, the d/b lift keeps all of your angles true. The hardest part is knowing that you’re cutting your cross member and bolting in new supports, I didn’t care about that. I don’t do any hardcore wheeling, just corn and bean fields during deer season. I wanted a 4 inch lift because of the stance that it gives my truck. CE25E485-686B-45C9-BD3F-4A49A9B81626.jpg

Thank you very much for the advice and for the picture of your pickup. That is a very nice setup you have, looks great. Can I ask, how much is a fair price to pay for the install? I figure I am going to buy my kit online and then find a good local shop to do the install. It would be good to have an idea of what to expect with the installation fee. Also, anybody have advice on where to find the best deal on TRD wheels?

your location will greatly affect price. As far as what you want your best bet is to call Marie at @HeadStrong Off-Road and explain what you want your truck to look like and she will help you.

I believe the install was about $750.

Ok, I have been looking at options and I found this.. Since I won’t be off-roading or anything, would this be a good lift for what I am looking for? 9D784F27-0A10-4AD5-BBB6-A77FC29949F8.jpg

If you want the cheapest "real" lift, do what thousands of members on TW have done and get the Bilstein 5100s. Yes, you'll likely have to do some minor fenders mods or even the CMC with 33s, unless you truly don't off road, in which case you will likely only rub when turning in steep driveways.
