In this area, central IA, the dealer charges $85 to change fluid in each diff. The charge to change the Xfer case fluid is $150.

I can't say about the plug change dealer charge. I bought 6 basic Deso plugs from Toyota for $33, then spent 90 minutes changing them myself. I recently changed fluids in the Diffs and Xfer case, cost was $62 for 6 qts 75w90 Syn w/LSD and $25 for gaskets and front diff drain plug. The fluid change took me about 2 hours because I had to use Brute Force to remove the front diff drain plug.

Save yourself some cash, prepare, plan, get the parts, spend a little time getting your hands dirty. This work is not difficult.

My local dealer charges $180 for the 4wd service. Font and rear diff and TC. Around an hour of labor and the rest is fluid cost.

After seeing the cost when I asked. I said it can't be that hard. So I had the transmission serviced for like $100 and did the rest. No point in getting scammed over dealer pricing. As the dealer pricing and extended warranty is simply a way for them to get you in the door so they can charge a bunch and claim you needed it. Fluid changes are often done by non-ase mechanics. Just someone off the street that says they can do it. My friend was one of these service lube mechanics. The youtube videos make it look harder then it is. Once you do it, your going to be like. They charge how much and for what.

I like this idea, I’ll have to order some.

    thanks for the part number.

I did look into DIY a little but not enough so I’ll be sure and search the forum before hand to make sure I’ve got everything.

Thanks for all the input guys. Got the diffs, Transfer case and engine oil done today. Refilling the front diff was not fun even with the hand pump. Hardest part was keeping the dog from tugging on my jeans while under the truck.
