I'm headed to around Prescott Basin October 10-12 (flexible time) and looking to stay in dispersed camping areas through the 16th or 17th.

Will it be hard to find a camping site over the 3 day weekend? Any suggestions or concerns?

What part of Prescott? There's dispersed camping near the Groom Creek area. Shouldn't be crazy busy out there.. but who knows with everything going on. People seem to be itching to get out so don't be surprised if you see others out there.

Thanks a lot. I had not picked any area around Prescott. I think I'll try around the Wolf Creek and Groom Creek and see how it goes. Anyone with other suggestions?

My family likes to camp in Forest Lakes, east of Payson. Im sure you will run into people trying to get away from the October heat especially being a holiday weekend.

I live in Prescott. Haystack area is decent for overnight camps depending on what you’re looking for. Williams is a little farther north but dog town lake is good for a few days.

Only downside right now is the fire restrictions.

Sorry if I’m late to the game
