Your radio gets 12v input when you turn on the head lights. It's to dim the radio at night. I have a 2010 and got rid of my radio a long time ago. My new radio I have a option to disable my radio from dimming. I am not sure on the 2013 model if you can manually adjust your interior lights and get the radio to stay bright. Maybe someone else with a 2013 model can chime in. You can always get rid of the 12v signal going to your radio but it will stay bright all the time which will be annoying at night.
