Failed steering rack. Should I rebuild?

    Yeah he's made a bunch on here and on IG. His are 1200 plus shipping. He changed his slug/barrel design up that you weld into the frame and well I think the frame will rip before these do.

    Not quite correct - but close. Dorman, NAPA, O'Reilly's, Advance, etc. do not manufacture their own parts. They specify parts from a number of aftermarket manufacturing companies, then slap their brand on the ones that meet their standards. That's where the difference comes in. Dorman's standards are notoriously low and almost entirely based on lowest price. (Remember, lowest price is the single most important criteria in some people's minds.) NAPA on the other hand appears (in my experience) to have higher standards and thus the parts that they select to wear their brand seem to be of higher quality - and carry higher prices.

    It can be tough your first go through...like a puzzle that has to be ever so right to go back in without following the manual.
    I wish I had spent the extra money for the Toyota OEM Rack. Have a look at your lower intermediate steering shaft while you're at it too.
