Damn, where’s my quad copter air fill bot now.

 

I just wanna figure out how to rig a CTIS system in a tacoma. An acquaintence with a Unimog has it and its so cool to air up and down on the fly.

 

All you need is a compressor, a pressure gauge, and an electric solenoid air switch or plain air switch along with a ring bleed valve.
Compressor to fill
Bleed valve to drain
Gauge to fill correct level or see where you’re at.
If you have several applications you can get fancy with a tank, regulator, a manifold and more solenoid switches.
They have kits for this stuff And sometimes the kit actually does what you want.

 

If you do paintball you can substitute either a CO2 tank or high pressure air tank for the compressor. Either one would fit in a fire extinguisher clamp.

 

The air chuck through the hub is the main stumbling block on a 4x4

 

Doh! , I totally missed the referent and thought it was only for airbags. Sounds like you have some expensive engineering to do.

 

Hey TW fam - the original OP of this thread disappeared a while back, and I volunteered to take over the OP, keep the first post updated and monitor this thread. Well, life happens and I feel I’m not able to give this thread the attention that it deserves.

Anybody have an issue with excessive water coming through the air chuck? Maybe its normal but figured I'd ask. I have not installed the water separator yet.... LOL.

 

That’s why compressor tanks have drain cocks. If you don’t have a tank then your tires/locker/etc is where it goes unless you install the separator. How much depends on the humidity.

 

Relocated my air compressor coupler today. Wish I would have done this sooner. Only $5 in parts and no more having to open the hood and getting asked if I’m okay every time somebody drives by

 

excellent! I need to add another to my front bumper so I don’t have to stretch the hose out from the bed. Also need to order me some caps!

 

Luckily my truck is short enough and the hose is long enough to reach, but I am tempted to run a line to the rear bumper. #expopoints

I might replace this cap eventually with one that has a loop attached to it so I don’t lose this one. This cap is actually a furniture leg cap from Lowe’s
