Hello, sorry if this is a repeat. My sister just bought a 01 runner for my niece and took it for an alignment. They charged her 100 bucks for a 4 wheel alignment.

I was under the imprison that solid axles do not need to be aligned. Most of my experience is with trucks ( I had a 1st gen Tacoma and currently a 3rd gen) and I understand the rear of the runners are different with the torsion bars ( I believe they are called) with the linkage as well.

Could someone help me understand if the rear does in fact need to be checked for or aligned?
If not, I am going to have words with Big O Tires!

    Thank you

The rear alignment can be checked, but you cannot adjust it with the stock links. It would show you if you have a bent axle or links though.

Thank you, this is what I thought. I am going to have some words with Big O tires. I don't think having just the front alignment done is 100 bucks! I think Les Schwab charges me about 60 or 70 for the front on my 2016 Tacoma.

All alignments are "four wheel alignments"

Most shops charge the same for truck fronts as cars fronts and rears.

Fronts of trucks have more adjustments and usually require more effort than front and rear on a car.
