@MESO dont mean to revive an old thread but I got inspired reading through this thread and bought a set of tails and cut them open but had some questions before i start painting. What is the paint you would recommend and sheen? When you tinted the reverse buckets, did you just use VHT tint spray and how was the light output with using your Stage 1 Total tails switchbacks in the reverse buckets? I want the blacked out look, but still want the lights to be bright. I am also wanting to tint the brake light buckets since I am using your Stage 1 total tails kit but once i tint them, i cannot got back to chrome buckets. Also, did you shoot any clearcoat over the black paint? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thought I’d give a go at the btlm after reading this thread. Bought a donor set to practice on. Paired them with MESO total taillights stage one. I think they turned out pretty good.

 

Looks slick! Did you just paint the lenses black in between the stripes?

 

These were off of a ‘16 so I had to paint all of the chrome, sans the inside of the lamp reflectors, and the lenses.

 

I just bought a set of lights to play with. What are you all using to put the lens back on after your black-outs?

 

Working on something similar myself. Got a few things I’m looking to do a little differently thouh

If you pull off the lens on a 2019 trd offroad is the whole housing black? Also are all the reflectors clear?
