I ripped the front piece of plastic off my front bumper trying to climb a hill. I plan to install an aftermarket bumper, so I don’t need a permanent solution, but I need to reattach my front license plate at the very least. The plastic tabs on top that hold it are all broken. My first thought is to use some zip ties to reattach the whole plastic piece that the license plate it attached to. Anyone else do this? Other ideas?

I don’t think there is enough plastic to drill bolt holes into, but I will look again.

I fixed it with a couple cable ties.

I've blown off that lower portion twice now.. the first time it ripped every single tab off, but were retained on the bumper itself. With that being said, I was able to JB Weld the tabs back on and slap it back on the truck and it actually looked great.

I then bought a new one from carparts.com for about 50 bucks which was absolutely perfect. Snapped right into place.....

I then proceeded to rip it off again via mud and luckily the tabs were safe except for the lower/side portions which I zip tied.

My tabs were retained in the bumper as well, but gluing them back on seemed more complicated than the cable ties and I plan to get a aftermarket steel or aluminum high clearance bumper in the near future.
