It's a joke, we don't remove beds for the 10th time.

If I do one this week I'll take a pic.

I got mine done this past weekend on Saturday, dropped it off at 9:25am and they didn’t have it done until 5:20ish pm. Don’t know why it took so long or what the hold up was, when I picked it up they just gave me the truck back with the paper work that just noted that there was a fuel pump kit installed and that the recall was performed. I think I may have been just one of the unlucky ones on the time it took to do it.

Not a joke on that FB post. The tech is arguing with people commenting that it’s much earlier to just remove the bed and that’s the process at that dealership.

I believe you 100% bc it’s sounds crazy to me to pull the bed for a fuel pump. I’ll be avoiding that dealer for sure.

My issue is they still have the jack on the tank, if you pull the bed, you leave the tank bolted to the truck.

My dealer called me today to tell remind me to have less than a 1/4 tank gas and that the job will take over a half a day... what?? No loaner either. They said they were all out. I told them that’s not going to work and I was told to leave a voicemail with their rental desk.

Pretty sure my bed came off. When I got mine home yesterday I climbed underneath to look for signs they were under there. My fluid film and woolwax was not disturbed anywhere including the frame rail where the lift should have touched. I did notice my tonneau cover was loose. And there were dusty hand prints all over it. I washed my truck before I brought it in. Also I had a few things in the bed all the way to the front. I noticed this morning they are in the rear now.

Mine said less than a half and they are dropping the tank, not taking the bed off. They said it should only take a couple of hours.

I'm supposed to take mine in on friday, trying a different local dealer due to issues with the last one. They haven't mentioned how empty the tank should be, but I'm planning on less than half when I drop it off. Sounds like they're also offering a loaner. I'm going to make sure they aren't removing the bed, I have a bunch of stuff wired up that would get damaged if they tried to take it off. I guess I would have done all that differently if I'd have known this sort of thing was a possibility.

The parts total are under $150 and readily available. If I had known I would have just bought them and did it myself in the driveway. Mine went ok. I don't see any damage that jumps out but it is raining. Hoping when I wash and dry this weekend I find no scratches or hacks. 2 times at dealer. 1 for sticker over grill sensor and I got a scratch in my grill surround. 1 for warranty the seal between my access door and regular door was hanging off and when replaced they scratched inside my door. So I am less than thrilled with leaving my truck with them. They wanted to do my free service when they had it and I said NO! Do just the pump recall.

Got mine done about the same time, brought it in at 8am and wasn't done till 3:30ish later that afternoon. I've read other posts in this thread where Toyota wanted a near empty tank, so when I brought it in w/ a little more than 3/4's full, I was prepared for them say to bring it back when near empty. Didn't happen and wasn't even mentioned. I don't know if it's just me, but the truck seems to be a lot smoother driving after getting the fuel pump replaced:notsure:

Funny you say that. My 2.7 feels like I don't need to hit the ect button. Its driving crisp with no lag. No need to romp on it. Thought it was in my mind.

Quite a few things at this point..
Appointments tomorrow evening. Work schedule makes it to where I'm gonna have to leave my truck overnight. Called the dealership I'm getting it done and they confirmed the parts were delivered and they have a free loaner for me. Really wish I didn't have to leave my baby overnight :(

Well, I'm done - 2 hours in and out, easy peasy. They dropped my tank. They had a pretty nice looking lifted Tacoma there - good looking graphics I thought.

Pay all the money for that truck from the dealer. Bring it in for something under warranty. Dealer says "sorry truck is modified so not covered"

Got mine done today and it took about two hours. Brought the truck in with a quarter tank of gas and they were happy about that.
