we have fairly rare rides so it's hard for us to always see threads posted about them on tw.

thought id start a thread for general discussions since there doesn't appear to be an active one in years.

this could be our "intro / what's going on / what did you do to your xr today" thread.

feel free to link your build thread, post pics or share all things x-runner.

i'll start...i'm in the dfw tx area. i daily an 05 speedway blue xr. she has 223k+ miles on her. 2nd owner and picked it up in 07 or 08 as a dd for my wife.

i inherited it from her in 2014 when she decided she wanted a grabber blue mustang. got tired of it and wanted another taco so we got a 2016 tx ed...weve owned 2...silver and blue. when she saw the cavalry blue color we traded it in for the 2019 trd sport lololol...

Got a really bad itch and started looking for x runners. Ended up looking for salvaged or rough shape truck as they were in my range. I ended up with a black 2005 that was completely stock except for some ugly after market wheels. Was on the hunt for stock rims. I have 1 extra and 1 spair. All the stock 18in. First buy was a hurst short throw then had to upgrade the stock rotors to the lexus isf rotors with tundra caliper. Going to have my new clutch in today with a lightweight flywheel. Cant wait. Next will be solid off road motor mounts. Want urd headers and hopefully will keep going from there. I have always liked the x runners so I hope to keep it.

For you 05-06 owners, check out the DMZ motor mount gusset kits.

With the age they are, they should be considered.

@blu xr , have you followed the twin turbo kit thread, for the 2019?

Too bad there isn't a twin kit for the XR....

I was going to use them for the boxed in frame kit. I'm trying to tackle all the suggestions that were told to me.

    Live in Las Vegas, NV.
Wanted one since they came out in 2005. Finally got one in 2015, while living in Los Angeles, by trading in a Fiat 500 Pop. Just paid her off last year. It's my daily. Only mods done are a Magnaflow exhaust (from previous owner), hid headlights, led lights, and Sapporo beer tap handle shift knob. For now. Got back after over 6mos to a dead truck and changed battery, spark plugs, oil. Next, I'd like a new exhaust manifold with new o2 and af sensors because I'm throwing a p0420 code. She's at 150k miles now. Small mods here and there will be added within a few months also: smoke headlights, tail, and brake lights, wink mirror lol, double din with backup camera, tint, tonneau cover, locking tailgate handle, grill... it will never end! :frusty:
Of the few X-Runners I see in Vegas, I don't think they are on here. I haven't checked xru for Vegas locals that are enthusiasts and aren't using it as a work truck  imo, I would never wanna beat it up like that... I'd get a base model for that purpose.
Glad to see some are still trying to keep it alive :headbang:

I've got a 2014 Blue Ribbon Metallic with a TRD S/C, URD UCON and URD Full Spec U Exhaust. I daily drive mine and I've got just over 175,000kms. It's my second X-Runner, the first one being a SWB 2006. Got into an accident with that one then put in the order for the 2014. I love the truck and will never get rid of it. I've got some plans for it when I take it off the road as a daily, but I'm still researching what the best way is to get what I want out of it. Some ideas that I've floated around are a fully built 1GR with a Whipple S/C, 1UZ with twin turbos, or the holy grail.....a 2UR-GSE swap with a big Whipple S/C.

    I dream big sometimes...lol.

let those guys know about this thread. also, how many miles?

we traded in an 05 bmw z4 for the xr. was so glad to get rid of that car. was the most problematic vehicle ive ever owned...constantly at the dealership for repairs.

bought the bmw because of the "great german engineering and reliability" lololol...its the reason i hate the new zupr4.

no thanks, i'll stick to my mkiv and mklll supras...at least those were built by toyota.
