So here’s a question I haven’t been able to find anyone other threads with the answer:

Scenario: Add ARB bumper to a 2nd gen DCSB TRD OR.

Typically you would “want” to upgrade the front suspension to handle the added weight (~130 added pounds).

The most basic recommendation is to use OME 886 coils (spring rate 660 pounds)

Would running 3rd Gen TRD OR front suspension (spring
Rate still up for discussion) be sufficient for a 2nd Gen with an ARB front bumper?

For reference I don’t want any lift, just have always wanted to run an ARB bumper for functionality.

I'm going to be doing the same in the near future. From what I've gathered here over the past few months: The 3 gen TRD OR suspension on your second gen "should" give you around a 1" lift in front. ARB bumper gives you sag from anywhere between 1-1 & 3/4". So you would be near or just a little under stock ride height. The "nose dive" you can get from the added weight in front is up for discussion. Some people say its bad, some people dont. if adding a winch there is an extra 50-90lbs to consider too.

I already added the suspension, it leveled the truck nicely. Now will it continue to accommodate a plate bumper, that’s the question!

I’m currently running an ARB front bumper and a third GEN off-road set of coil overs. It rides great.

Here is an old one with factory third GEN coil overs. I no longer have that bumper though.

    Still in planning phase ...
I’ve been wondering the same, but I was going to go with an aluminum bumper and winch and trying to keep the weight around 120 lbs. combined.
