I do not see any aluminum bumpers on the market any more. I have a vague memory of SOS Offroad Concepts selling both a front and rear aluminum bumper, but I don't see them on their web page anymore. Are aluminum bumpers I thing of the past?

I have been planning on going with either aluminum or no bumpers and thus selected 600lb coil springs and OME standard leafs earlier this year. Since then I have beat the crap out of my stock rear bumper, so I am thinking it is time to get at least a rear bumper. I'm a bit concerned that steel plus a possible winch in the future will be too much weight for the suspension. I never plan to run a rack, tent, etc.

I knew I wanted aluminum and hunted for two years for my Pelfreybilt aluminum front bumper. The rear bumper weight isn't going to be a big deal for your setup. FEFSEPT2020.jpg

Ya I’m more concerned about the weight on the front than the rear but I figure I will get a matched pair of aluminum bumpers. But then again I have learned that the rear is the one I abuse the most, so maybe steel is best there.

Victory 4x4 (victory4x4.com)has aluminum bumpers but they are expensive--Front bumper will run almost $2k with shipping and powder coat plus more to install or DIY.

DeMello Off-Road also has a aluminum bumper but only for the front. I have been debating between getting either the DeMello or Victory for the front and then a steel single swing out for the rear.

Oh cool. Thanks. They state their steel front bumper is only 95 lbs. If I remember right, SOS listed their aluminum front bumper at 75 lbs. That makes me consider going with steel and saving a lot of money. I like their website too.

I’m not far from Canada and I might even talk like them according to my southern friends :)
