Truck Cap Rear Door Options/Issues

I have an ARE V Series with the standard single T handle rear door. I have had issues with the lock bars (not the lock itself) seizing up. The first time this happened, the bars ended up totally warped (honestly, I probably forced the lock open one too many times) and were replaced under warranty. The second time this happened, the dealer lubed up the mechanism and it seems to be working fine now. That said, the dealer went ahead and ordered me a rear door with the two T handles after mentioning they have been seeing issues with the lock bars. The replacement is coming in at no cost to me.

I'm wondering if anyone has this style of door and what they think about it. I'm primarily concerned with opening/closing the rear door (something I do almost every trip) with one arm. Does the door open smoothly when pulling from a corner instead of the middle?

 

Had an ARE with the double handles on my last Silverado - no issues. Also had the same set-up on three LEER caps with no issues...
