I recently installed 285/70 R 17s with 17x9 wheels. Feels like I lost first gear, mpg went down the toilet and lost power in general. Will a tuner solve the power loss? I read about rear gearing... not sure I want to mess with gears at this point. Please let me know if anyone had a similar issue . My gen 2 did not have this issue.

Nah, Ovtune and or regear can help! Plenty have increased tire size with no issue, but it may chalk it up to personal preference!

How many omg did you loose and what is your OMG now? Shouldn’t see much more then 1mpg loose. I’m running the same size tires and I was getting 12.5 city driving before and after regearing to 5.29. No improvement on city driving, I’m seeing moderate improvement on highway and mountain driving. You don’t “need” to regear until you go 34s or bigger.

Really? Most people who upsized tires along with added armor report losing 6th gear.

I’m reporting too.... 6th gear lost. My next mod will be OV tuner. I hear nothing but good reviews and a fix for fifth and sixth gear shift points.
