    2020 is different than 19-earlier

buying the Taco tunes add-an-amp harness for the 2018+ Camry is the cheaper way to do it. The Metra 70-1765 and 71-1765 are also correct, but they’re very expensive because you’re buying ALL the wiring and not just the speaker wiring. It’s several connectors and you only need 1 of them, so it’s a waste.

I'm having a heck of a time on step 1, depinning the blue wires. Any advice? I tried sticking the smallest screwdriver I have in both sides (wire side and pin side) but I'm afraid I'll damage it. I'm not sure exactly where the "locking mechanism" is located.

I used a tiny eyeglass screwdriver and stuck it in the pin side at a bit of a downward angle.

Dental pick worked for me. It’s fiddly for sure.

Holding the connector like so, take a jeweler's flat head screw driver under the little plastic tab, but above the metal pin and lift gently. You really don't have to move it that much to get it to release. The hardest part is removing the wire out the back while holding the tab in the unlocked position. I cannot find a good video on youtube to illustrate what I'm trying to explain.

Thanks so much for the info and help.

will installing the amp help with pushing more power and volume to the rear speakers? If not, what is the easiest way of doing so?

    Cheers!

I think the consensus, and what I’ve seen come from Crutchfield, is that the 2020 uses a new plug. I’d start with contact Metra to see if they have something that at least has the proper plug.

For clarification this DOES fit the 2020, but it IS NOT what you need for the Key

Thanks Destin, I emailed Tacoma Tuunes and it looks like they have updated their website for the 2020 Tacoma so you don’t have to order the Camry harness anymore. This is what they suggested for adding the Kicker Key amp. Https://*********.com/shop/toyota-t...acoma-plug-play-amp-harness-installation-kit/

So this harness is all that's needed to be used with the Kicker key? for 2016-2020?

I asked them specifically about installing the Kicker Key to my 2020 Tacoma stock 8” HU. That was their answer...

I have no idea what modifications are needed at this point.

Another poster included a photo of their Tacoma tuunes harness before installation
