The pieces of sheet metal and plastic that come from the factory and aftermarket skid plates are two different animals.

Note that the TRD Pro comes with a much beefier aluminum skid plate that almost on par with the aftermarket skid plates. You can buy it for any 3rd gen Tacoma. I have one on my OR.

I still have the factory under body protection panels, but I would feel like I was ripping off anyone I sold them to. You can get way better protection for $400-600 (the amount in your original post).

I wasn’t aware the OR came with anything extra.

i don't feel so bad now to know all of this as my 2020 pro4x has skid plates covering all the under body parts BUT 1/2 of them are plastic. it has the big aluminum piece up front but the oil pan and transmission have just plastic as does the fuel tank. the transfer case does have a good size metal skid on it though. i am trying to get the oil pan one fabbed up in 1/8" metal or maybe it was 3/16. Got it underway and hoping to get it later this week. You guys have alot more aftermarket support than us over in nissan titanland. So i will need custom made.
