Hey everyone - long time lurker but just joined the site. Firstly, this site is an awesome resource for Tacoma owners, thanks to everyone for making it as such.

17 TRD Sport with the 6 spd manual.

So I had the damned oil seep from my timing chain cover and the dealer pulled the engine and resealed. Here is my issue: Now when the truck is under load and going over bumps, there is a buzzing in the gas pedal that no one else can feel in the truck but is driving me nuts. When I put the truck in neutral or even just let off the gas, I can no longer feel it. It's very noticeable when the truck is pulling up a bumpy hill. Not a constant buzz in the pedal but seems to follow the bumps of the road. Especially after a bump when the truck is loading the shocks as it bounces towards the ground.

Toyota dealer says that they can't feel anything awry and that it's no big deal. But I'm not so sure as it seems to definitely be something in the drivetrain but I am not mechanically savvy enough to figure it out. Symptoms sound like a driveshaft issue from searching on this site but the tech said the driveshaft was never touched when they pulled the engine.

Any ideas of what it could be? If I can't get any satisfaction from the dealer I'll probably try an independent shop to see their take on it.

    Thanks!

    Chris

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
i can probably help with this.

i had my ‘16 timing cover done also- immediately i had a weird buzz/rattle while driving, so i took it back. they could not find anything (surprise right?) so i looked over it and found a ton of wire loombs and brackets they left unhooked so i went and reattached everything, and zip tied the harness where it need it. buzz was gone.

look for that stuff, they can be real slopping with that stuff.

That gives me hope that it's not mechanical in nature. I'll get under there and check to see if anything looks loose, thank you for that idea. Guessing these would be on the underside of the engine, correct?
