"help" by itself in the title is reserved for people stranded. I've changed it for you.

The vehicle will handle better with 4 identical tires on it. It is even best if all 4 have roughly the same miles on them. It isn't a good idea to replace just 2 at at time. Two new tires on the rear with 2 worn tires on the front will negatively affect handling even it they are the same size and type tire. For short term temporary use you'd probably be OK unless you're into high speed performance driving. But it isn't something I'd plan to do long term.

If the vehicle is 4X4 you should never operate it in 4X4 with different size tires on it. Doing that will break stuff. A reputable tire store wouldn't mount different sizes on a 4X4. Many won't sell you less than 4 tires for a 4X4. A tire worn to near the end of it's life is already roughly one size smaller than it was when new.

    the real question is WHY?

With modern abs systems with high fidelity the difference in diameter could have a negative effect even on a 2wd truck.
