I just remeasured. 1.75”/1.9” so that’s a bit more normal. Must’ve settled a bit after the test drive. I hit some speed bumps nearby and there is a noticeable improvement, but still a little harsh. I’m going to throw my spare in the back to add a little weight.

Ok one final post about these leafs. After adding my spare I measured again. Exactly 1.5” lift each side. In case anyone is wondering how I’m measuring, the top center of the axle tube to the bottom of the frame rail. Stock trucks is 8.25”. I was right at 9.75”.

Me too. After adding the spare tire to the bed, I just took the truck to the store with the wife. Saw some nasty pot holes and sped up to hit them. She braced for impact. The truck floated over them and she was like “oh man, that’s way better”

I'm not donating to any Gofundme for Randy. As much money as he's put into Betty in the past 3 months...he can afford his own parenting classes! :D

For his wife's cardiologist bills I'm sure he's going to give her a few hear attacks, stroke, aneurysm, and arethmia.

Ha! Bet you had Dakar’s on that truck. If you had icons, it would’ve soaked up the bumps and her water would’ve been intact.

I pulled the trigger on new king smoothies just now. One is leaking and that's because I knicked the shock shaft with an angle grinder a couple months ago. It felt smooth to the touch, but that was enough to tear the seals up, so it's leaking.

I new shaft is $65, seal kit is $30 and shock oil $40. That would just fix the shock so it's not leaking, and not take care of the fact I want to put a custom tune on them. Plus I need to do the work myself.

To send my shocks off to accutune for a rebuild and tune is $370 in labor alone, then the parts as well, so in the neighborhood of $500. The truck will also be down a couple of weeks.

My solution, just buy new shocks from accutune. They're obviously brand new and they do a custom tune on them for free. Total cost, $658. I will then sell my current shocks for very cheap to someone who has the intention of rebuilding them themselves. The downside, the lead time. King is behind due to COVID so I'll be waiting for a few months, but this is the lowest effort solution here.

Related, I'll be selling the Kings for hella cheap since they'll need a rebuild, or at least one of them. $100 for the pair takes them.

Not for sale yet since they're obviously still on the truck. Just putting that out there. Current lead time for the new shocks is 10 weeks, so these will be for sale roughly around the new year.
