Service guy was useless and wasn’t sticking around for higher up.

they kept telling me they needed to order some “special’ stuff for this and kept truck for 2 days. WTF did they do?

 

My guess is spray all that grease inside your frame. Look under the truck at your frame...does it look like Hulk jizzed everywhere?

 

Yep, they cleaned inside frame, applied corrosion protection inside of frame only and installed some frame plugs to help keep out moisture.

 

That’s what I kept asking the idiot Service guy! He just kept reading off the list “ They cleaned and waxed and plugged the body Sir”. I wanted to punch him. Why wax? Why plug?
“ They cleaned and waxed and plugged the body Sir”. he repeated and kept poking his finger at the service sheet. I left before things got violent.

 

It was something he probably couldn’t help, he was probably dropped when he was a baby.

 

I wonder why they don’t write the add corrosion protection part on the service sheet. That would have made it clear. . Is it something nefarious Or just an oversight. Or is that the “wax”

It’s really called CRC coating, your dealer just called it wax.

They are trying to keep the CRC inside the frame.
The plugs are to help keep it from running out.

There is no way blowing a whole case of spray foam in to the frame is a good idea or,

will work.

 

I have my inspection tomorrow.
On a side note, we just bought a 2020 TRD Off Road Taco, access cab, Voo Doo Blue Tacoma for my daughter who is returning from Japan (Kadena Air Base), this Saturday.
We had to search like hell to find the exact truck she wanted and finally found it in Austin, Texas.
I spoke with sales people in Indiana, Minot, ND, and the ones in Austin and asked all of them if they would perform the frame spray as a preventive measure on a new truck.
NONE of them knew what the hell I was talking about. I was baffled by it.
She's going to be stationed in Minot, ND next so this weekend, I'm going to pick up a couple of cans of Fluid Film and spray it down. I'm going to let her drive it for a couple of days before I stink it up.
The truck hasn't even seen rain yet. I drove it 16 hours, just a little over 1,000 miles to get back home and only got sprinkled on for about 5 minutes.

 

Use Woolwax

 

I was thinking about that. I think our local Napa carries it.

 

its not spray foam, but a fluid goo to help keep moisture out. ITs a oily cream
