Made my decision, and picked up a Rockhopper sport. :yay: Hopefully resale stays strong in 2021, just in case I'm ready for an upgrade by then.

I got a road ride in yesterday. Haven’t ridden my mountain bike in a while though. I’ve been lazy with having to drive to get to the trails haha

Thanks! Finding one took weeks of daily searching, base, sport, Comp, all SOLD out in Large. Almost gave up, and had convinced myself to go with my second choice, the Cannondale Trail 7. Woke up Tuesday morning, grabbed my phone off the nightstand, did my daily check at all bike shop within 100 mile radius, and there it was.. 1 RH Sport.. IN STOCK. Paid for it before my eyes even got adjusted to being opened. Lol
    Brought at home yesterday evening.

Local riding is slim pickings right now. Fire west of town exploded (again) yesterday and burned an additional 15 miles west to east and 30K acres in 24 hrs. Local trailheads in mandatory evac are Lory State Park, Horsetooth Mountain Park and Bobcat Ridge. Local trails still accessible are Coyote Ridge and Devil’s Backbone. Might have to head down south tomorrow.

@abacall @SenatorBlutarsky @IDtrucks thanks for the Moab pro tips. I got a little action on Pipe dream but it was too dark to ride. I hit Jimmy Keen to the Half Enchilada and it was amazing. I definitely did not appreciate some of the tech on there that I had seen in YouTube videos. I bit it hard about 50 yards into jimmy keen. I hit an invisible stump going full speed through that real flowy section. I got to finish the remainder of my ride with what felt like a broken toe..lol

Half-chilada is still a blast and you get most of the fun and views without the steep section up top.
Hoping I get one more up there before it’s shut down. Planning a 24/25 trip.

I’m serious about that detour especially anything after 2 or 3. It is longer mileage wise to go around but you will at least be moving.

If you have the time, and are planning on camping before you ride, you can also go in the back-roads way through Blue Hills. That doesn't do shit for the traffic as you still come in from the north, but the drive over from the 6 to 191 through those roads is super beautiful. Lots of undeveloped backcountry style camping, petroglyphs and pictograph walls, solitude...

Do you usually camp when you're down there? If so, where do you tend to camp? (feel free to DM me...)

I had no issues with the traffic when I was there to bike a few weeks ago because we turned off to camp well before Arches when we arrived in the evening. The next morning, driving through town to trailheads wasn't too bad since most people were leaving town at that time. The trailheads were still a bit nutso, but we didn't really get caught up in the traffic at all.

I see your viewpoint but if you ever get serious about riding you will want to ride one bike so you can maximize your technique. Much easier to focus on riding faster when your bike is dialed
