I have a friend selling some never installed lights, he has side shooter flood, D series driving, or side shooter driving, they would be used mostly for hunting/off roading to camping areas, no hardcore off roading though, all the same price, this is in Arizona. Is one profile better than the other, or should I look for spotlight instead?

I don't have any ditch lights but IMHO, for what you're doing, any will probably be fine. Myself, I would do the flood pattern.
