07 Taco and my driver side headlight is kinda pointing at the ground now. The reflective shield is loose causing it the bounce over bumps as well. I wanted to go the route of just getting some new lights, like the tacoma beast ones. But after reading 64 pages about it I decided against it. Ordered 2 different sets off Amazon (since I could return them easily) and they both were really bad. Decided to order a single headlight from my work since I work at an auto parts store and it was honestly probably the worst performing one...

And that leads me to now, I honestly think I want to just bake open my OEM and try to fix it but have no idea what is wrong inside. I don't want to be stuck with a driver side headlight that is even worse than it is now. Anyone have any suggestions or guides to fixing a loose shield inside the headlight?

For $103, get a single lamp from headlights america. I'm pleased with mine (I replaced both my headlights for $206)

How about a oem set from a junk yard ? Oem is pretty good quality. Try car-part for local junk yards.

All the time spent ordering, returning trying again. Get a set of oem headlights assemblies. If you work the parts guy you can get them for about $250ea. And be done with it imo.

They normally retail for 300 but I assure if you talk to your parts guy you can get 15-20 percent off and get them for 250-260

I'm gonna try to fix it and maybe go that route if I can't. Right now I seem to have it wedged back into position, but who knows if it will stay. Might bake it apart if I can't get it to stay there. I just can't believe how bad the oem replicas were.

Yep, very common. Look similar but do not perform the same at all. Example here. OEM is definitely the only way to go for replacement headlights.

That’s a little pricey but I would still go that route. The original lights in my 07 are still perfect no moisture or any other problems. Cant go wrong with oem learned that one the hard way.
