Anyone run Blizzak snow tires? They seem highly recommended. Figured it'd be nice to have 2 sets, one for winter, and one for everything else. Downsizing from the 17 inch stock wheels to 16s cause of cost (cheaper wheels, cheaper tires) but confused about offset (I know nothing about it). Will 10mm be okay? Seems like the OEM is 30mm.

I'm sure I could find some cheaper steel wheels on Craigslist but these look nice and aren't that pricey. Plus tire rack installs the TPM sensors and mounts the tires for you, all shipped. Less hassle.

Blizzacks are great tires, I really like mine.
With those wheels you will be inside your fender well, no outside poke.

I was unimpressed with the stock tires performance in the snow so I'm looking fwd to trying these out. 245/75 seem to be the right size too but I've seen 265/65 suggested as well. I imagine there isn't a huge performance difference.

I went with the 265 70 17 Blizzack DMV2 on my Sport Wheels for winter driving. I run SCS wheels the rest of the year. If your thinking of getting different wheels I would make your stock wheels the winter ones and spend a bit more for something nice the rest of the year.

Wow, the SR8's are really nice looking. That's not a bad idea at all. Just a bit more expensive than I was looking to spend. The 16 tires and wheels were a good deal cheaper than the 17s but now you have me thinking. My wallet hates you!

I know! There are so many cool things for these trucks, but really thats what I would do.
There are some other great wheels out there to look at as well but SCS are one of my favorite, if you are using your stock wheels for winter that gives you time to research what you want for the spring.

For sure, its a good idea. I was gonna get a set of cheaper wheels for winter cause I was afraid the local tire shop may scratch up or ding the stock ones (which I like quite a bit btw) taking the tires on/off in winter/spring, but if the stock ones become permanent winter set, it'll only have to happen once.

I just received my blizzaks 245/75/16 and mounting them next week, can't wait. I was going to go with General tire grabber arctics but blizzaks went on sale :) would have got Nokian Hakkas if wallet allowed.

Nice! You happy you went with the 245/75/16? I'm still not sure if 245/75 is the best, wanna make sure 100% before pulling the trigger. Where did u find them on sale? I see em for $140/each on tire rack

I prefer a skinnier tire for snow/ice. I'm in Canada but got them for about $130 USD if converted rate.
