Hey everyone. New to posting but have been lurking on the forums for a bit. Found some good info here in the past, like learning of the existence of oem bed lights. Great simple addition to the truck, especially with the topper that blocks the 3rd brake cargo light.

Anyway, I've been doing some searching and havn't been able to find much info and hoping the brain trust can help out. I'm looking for pics or descriptions of round lights mounted behind the grille of a 3rd gen. I know this was pretty popular with the 2nds. I'm curious how effective the light will be shining through the grille on my 2020. This would be mostly for night highway driving, extra time to help spot animals sort of thing. I'd thought about going with an led bar in the lower slot grille (the new Sylvania stuff looks ok) but not sure about the extra price for anything decent compared to something like the hella 700s. I also like the halogens giving off a little heat to help keep things from icing up during the winter.

Has anyone been the guinea pig before me?

I haven't read through that thread yet. I'll check it out.

I’ll link you to the current cliffs notes post but the detail in the first three is a must read (it took me several reads over weeks to maybe digest and understand half of it and I’m still learning more thanks to others’ contributions.)

NOTE: I don’t believe we have a good thread about aux driving lights yet. I think Crashnburn80 wants to do one of those at some point but it’s a lot of work to gather data from various products. He also has some limitations on what he can do as far as testing high beams at distance due to not wanting to really annoy his neighbors. So if your interests truly lie in maximum volume of light at distance with high beams on, you may not find a ton of answers in that thread. Still, it’s the right spot for discussion for now, and you can at least take care of the low beam performance upgrade if you’re running stock osram.
