This looks pretty thin. The Toyota bed mat is a popular and logical choice.

Just use a Factory Toyota bed mat, I cant imagine any spray in liner sticking well enough to last very long.

Two local places said they wouldn't warranty spray in liner in the Tacomas.

I've been to three companies that spray bed liners. They were a Rhino Liner dealer, a Line-X dealer and a Bullet Liner dealer. All three told me exactly the same thing. Their materials will spray onto the composite bed and adhere for a period of time but will eventually delaminate. That makes it difficult for them to offer a long-term warranty they can stand behind so they prefer not to spray Tacomas. The Bullet Liner guy said if I absolutely had to have it, he'd send the truck to a body shop that can spray the bed with a sealer/adhesion promoter, then he'd spray it with Bullet liner. But he still seemed shakey on how long it would last. So I have pretty much given up on the idea of a spray-in bed liner.

Really good to know. I had originally wanted to spray line mine, but after hearing that it really wouldn't be worth it in the long run,I'll definitely invest in a bed mat now

I made a Rhino appointment today as part of a broader Ziebart treatment. Anti-rust coating, since Toyota apparently still hasn’t worked that out, and window tint too. Rhino is only about an 1/8” thick, and I didn’t want the thickness of the mat. The added durability will also be a plus, although, in that department, I personally prefer Line X. Managed to get a good price bundling the Rhino with the anti-rust coating, though, and as others have said, the bed is already pretty stout.

OEM Bed mat! Bought mine online from a local dealer for less than $100. If you want to protect the walls then get some MOLLE panels or something similar to keep the composite material from getting damaged. I miss the Line-X bed I had in my Tundra, but the bed mat has plenty of grip on it and makes up for it.

It's your truck, and you can do what you want with it. Before you have Ziebart, or any other solid/semi solid coating sprayed on your frame, you may want to look into real world experiences and results of using such products. If you want your truck to last, you're better off having it treated, or treating it yourself with an oil based product or wool wax. Something like Krown, or Corrosion Free, Rust Check, Cosmoline, or Fluid Film, whick seems to be the most popular choice around here. They will have to be reapplied, or at the very least, touched up every year, but unlike Ziebart, won't trap moisture in, or crack over time allowing moisture in, leaving your frame you rot sight unseen underneath the somewhat appropriately named rust coating.

The oil based corrosion products are designed more for storage, shipping, etc. than for application on a daily driver that is subject to regular rain, etc. Yes, they’re effective, but a solid coating, IMHO at least, is better if maintained.

In that regard, Ziebart is no different than anything else; you have to keep up with it. If you apply it once and never have it inspected again, I don’t doubt that it’ll break down and potentially aggravate oxidation. Ziebart actually acknowledges as much on its website. But at the same time, if you fail to maintain a lot of things in a vehicle, that can cause/aggravate the very problem the product was designed to ameliorate in the first place.

I’ll add that I don’t rock crawl or do any serious off-roading in my truck, just basic overlanding, or I might think differently. The Midwest is pretty flat, and when I take it West, I’ll be pulling a camping trailer.

I do sincerely appreciate your advice and experiences, though. That’s what makes this forum great.

Coal mines , power plants , rock quarries have rolls of used belt . You have to know someone that's works there to get you a piece . You could try craigslist or marketplace .

Bed stiffeners add an extra layer of strength to these composite beds. As others have stated, a spray liner won’t last long enough to be worth the cost.. I like the idea of a Tractor supply bed mat that someone previously posted

Another option. Packages no longer slide around and the sides are protected.

I beat the holy hell out of my 08 bed. Held up better than any metal bed (with bed liner too). After living with one for over a decade, it's a huge selling point.

I find the factory bed durable other than scratches and it is pretty slippery.
