How close are the Meso Magnetic Grey coloured trim to the factory coloured climate control trim rings? I just want to delete the chrome on the start and 4x4 surround. If the MGM is a close match it will work perfect.

I was in the same boat as you. I just installed mgm chrome delete and it’s almost a perfect match.

Mine was different enough and the climate rings cheap enough that I wound up buying them. I could post a side by side photo tomorrow night (out of town right now).

I had the same plan at first, just delete chrome. But I like the full MESO better.

IMO, go black! I have an MGM but all @MESO trim pieces are black. Matches very well to the bezel.

...and, I don’t believe the MGM trim pieces will be a close enough match to factory trim on your climate control. I’d say replace them all :bananadance:

Thanks for the photo... black is cool, but I think I would prefer some subtle contrast.

    Minor stuff.
I just bought the MGM for my start button and 4X4 ring. It’s a little off but makes no big deference to me. FYI: I have to use a flashlight because my map lights are red. Flashlight is at about a distance of 2-3’.

It bug me enough to change them. If you want to keep them I would go black with all the chrome delete.

MGM will not match. It was never designed to. The stock ac rings are a painted silver(have some metallic specs in them) which is almost impossible to replicate with injection molding. Go black or swap them all out. It’s weird Toyota used 2 different shades of silver between the manual and auto climate rings. Then, 2020 they changed them to a darker metallic.

@MESO why did you do the 4X4 selector with 7 “teeth” (not sure what to call them exactly. I guess they look like cogs to me, so teeth is close?) while the climate controls have 6? Don’t get me wrong, I love the look, but just one of those things I noticed.

I just took the stock chrome rings off and went and found some auto paint that closely matched the climate rings (it was like a ford or Chrysler gray) and sanded down the chrome rings and then got a plastic bonding promoter and put that on first before painting. I didn't like the cog/teeth look and wanted to stay with the stock color of the climate rings.

Bought Meso's shift knob cover and painted that to match as well. 2020's come with a non chrome cup surround, so I left that alone. Painted another steering wheel T cover than Meso's because he didn't have his out yet with the same paint as I did the chrome rings. I also bought some used vent rings from someone that did the Meso ones and painted those the same color. I really like the way mine came out.
