Hey all looking for some help here,

Having a vibration at speed need help tracking down,

Went off-roading the other day pretty good, got hung up on my passenger side rear ubolts and my driveshaft was spinning on the top of a stump had to jack up the truck and put a bunch of boulders under it to get out. On the way out ripped the sidewall of rear driver tire and while switching it out the back slipped landing on my rear hub. Rode on the spare home got a brand new tire installed.

    truck is 2016 DCLB auto
Dobsinson 3.5” lift in front 3” rear
285/70r17 (20k miles besides new one) tires on ray10 -38s
    4.88 gears with arb lockers

truck vibrates while moving after about 10mph can feel it in steering wheel and in my seat

does not change from drive to coasting In neutral, does not change 2wd to 4wd in Straight line

no vibration when still and revving in neutral or just sitting idling

I have aluminum wheels and when I hit big bumps it gets out of balance. I had to bring wheels in to get rebalanced. When I do, the vibration stops. Until I hit another big bump or pothole. We have a lot here in New Orleans. Might be one or more unbalanced wheels.

3.5 front and 3" rear is a lot. Is it spacer only in the rear?

I would suspect a rear axle misalignment and possible rear prop shaft damage. Both would require proper shop time.

By Vibration a slight vibration ?? Bad enough anything on the right seat bounces off the roof ending up on the floor and keeps bouncing off the floor to you stop the vehicle ?

You need both hands on the wheel and one foot on the floor to keep from moving to much??

Could be enough mud on one of the wheels or on the drive line.

How close is the new tire to the old tire on the same axle ?? Did your tire dealer suggest two new tires ??

Did the truck land on the brake Drum Might have been enough to tweak the axle .

The same with the driveshaft a tiny bend is enough to throw things off

This is the one part of why I hate about working at a shop in New Orleans, the other is people get pissed the car doesn't drive perfectly straight after an alignment cause the roads are so damn bad your whole car is just bouncing all around going down the street.

OP I would balance the wheels(cheep and easy), put the truck on a rack with the wheels off and drive it in the air to see if the vibe is there, if it is then have someone watch for what is shaking/bent while your driving it in the air. I recommend taking the wheels off so you can better see the axle and eliminating the wheels entirely.

As mentioned above , I have done this hundreds of times as well . When you run a vehicle on the hoist with the wheels off , You can visibly see when rotating parts are out of round .
The only difference on a hoist is all wheels are spinning free and the suspension has no load .
For those vibrations with a load you can try the universal Tacoma vibration tests to narrow the problem down

Put truck on stands and put it in drive to see the rear driveshaft was wobbling from getting high centered. Replaced rear driveshaft With a new unit and main problem was fixed but still having some subtle vibes in my steering wheel and gas pedal. Most noticeable around 25 mph with a mild “womp womp womp” rhythmic noise. I have been told I have a bent spindle on passenger side and measuring from top of spindle to tire would confirm this. Starting to think the damaged spindle has put strain on that wheel bearing making it go bad.
Does this sound right? I have jacked up the truck and tried to wiggle the wheel and tire (9 and 3 o clock/ 12 and 6 o clock) but found no play.

needle bearing was replaced with ecgs bushing when my gears were done.

Vibes present with two different sets of tires.

Pulled the passenger side suspension apart today to replace the spindle. With everything taken apart and spindle removed should I be able to move the cv axle in and out (towards and away from diff) freely?

Much more than that, I didn’t do want to yank on it too bad and pop it out of place or rip the boot but it feels like inch(es?) again this is with everything disconnected and just the CV in place. When I had it through the bearing and torqued it was about 1/4 to 1/2” play.

Spinning it I don’t hear or feel anything alarming
