Having look for a new chainsaw, made me curious on buying the husky 550xp markII as my brothers just does what you ask of it all the time. 50cc at 11lbs with an 18” bar . I was looking between this but with a 20” bar because I have an extra 18” bar with a new chain.

With 2 like machines, it be easy to swap out chains and bars and whatever else maybe needed while in play.... know what I mean?

the other saw I was looking at was the husky 555 which is the next step up. 60cc 13 lbs. don’t need that big of a saw but this is what ace hardware in Coopersburg had in stock and with the rebate it would of made it about the same price out the door as the 550. 599.00 plus tax and add the oil for the extra warranty. 670 ish....

Also had a Stihl 261 18 inch bar compatible with the Husqvarna 550. Very similar in weight and power but not really a “Stihl” guy .... :-/ haha

anyone got any info or pointers on chainsaws as talked about ? Iv been using the Husqvarna 440 for branches and what not BUT starting to develop an air leak “I believe” when HOT, wants to surge and stall. Been an ongoing issue and it’s the 3rd time back to get looked at.... ok enough with my story

I'm a big fan of my dads echo cs-400 been looking into getting the cs-590 for myself. The echoes seem to be built pretty well and have a decent warranty

I was told to buy bigger than what you think you need. So maybe the 555 for you. I’m not familiar with husky though, I’m a stihl guy.

Iv done searching of echo. Went to look at one the other day... 590 is HEAVy and as much sawing as we do, my arms won’t be happy spending a small amount on a heavy tool....

As far as Stihl... I could be a Stihl guy but seeing that 2 of us could have the same saw and could easily swap out parts in minutes. Might be the best way to go for such the scenario . I’d have to order the 550 for early November which gives me time to do some final comparisons

Someone broke a CV and someone broke a driveshaft and then just a bunch of pinstripes, was definitely a good time, wish I could have stayed the whole weekend. Next year I'll try to plan for it.

Good morning fellow Pennsyluckyvanians!! We extracted honey yesterday - waiting for it to settle out before we bottle it. Tastes like it's a good batch.
