Hey guys, so I've been lifting my 2017 taco over the past 4 days and I'm finally at the finish line. But sadly my rear shocks are giving me hell. I installed the set of bushings and the metal sleeve that came with the shock, but now when I try to mount them they get stuck in the shock mount where the hole for the bolt is. I've tried using a rubber mallet and adding grease to the mount to try to get it in the mount. I was hoping yall could give some suggestions on how to fix this issue.

On a side note, I'm not sure if the bushing that came on the shock originally are the correct ones or not, but when I asked the Maxtrac service tech he said to replace the bushings with the ones that came in the parts bag. I tried sliding the original bushings into the shock mount to see how they'd compare to the size of the mount and they slide in very easily without much of a fuss. Please let me know what you'd suggest I do to fix this issue.

here is a link to the lift kit and a picture of what the shock is getting stuck on.

    1. Try widening the tabs a little bit so the bushing doesnt catch the lip of that hole. This is commonly done for the rear shock install. I've also been lucky by compressing the shock, and lifting it into place so when the shock stem is rebounding....it decompresses in a downward motion into that cup (between the tabs) so it seats itself with minimal effort. Lastly, you can shove a flat head thru the tab holes and bushing holes and auger it to make things line up so you can thread the bolt through.

    2. Regarding the bushing. I dont know about the maxtrac shocks but some shocks for the Tacoma are actually Tundra-specific and the bushing is meant for the tundra. So therefore, you need to remove them and press in Tacoma sized bushings. At least this was the case for my rear Fox shocks.
