Do 2TRs have a high pressure fuel pump?

From what I see it's only in the 2GR. But if not, then what's that weird fluttering/flapping/chirping noise I hear when I cross into the promised land above 4k RPMs?

No. They are standard EFI with a 44psi pump.

Thanks. So what's that sound I hear? Is that just the sound that's made by the 150ish tiny horses that live inside my engine?

    A thing or two...
HPFPs are only on direct injection engines, which the 2TR isn't.

The only thing I can think of is maybe it's tied to the variable valve timing. I've never noticed anything like you're describing in my 08 with the 2TR. The 3rd gen is dual VVT, so it could be the exhaust valve timing changing.

I have heard something similar on mine. Mainly when on the highway and i go from coasting to tipping back into the throttle. I have always wondered what it was, but kinda thought it might be VVTI related. Sounds like it has something to do with vacuum though
