2012 New Taco owner here with yet another question.

I really like the lol of the bull bars on the front of these trucks. What are the pros and cons of adding a bull bar to my truck?

I’ve been looking at them online and soooooo many to pick from. What do you suggest without breaking the bank?

    Thanks again!

Usually installed incorrectly and weak, lower clearance. I'd say meh, get a ful bumper instead

Is it worse then a “which oil is best” question?

Didn’t realize there was controversy over bull bars.

My guess that bullbars are less controversial

lets just say there are some verbal anti bullbars around. I say if you like the look it's your truck

I like the look as well. Mine has a Westin on it. Tighten it down solid and if it looks good to you then run it. Your truck, your payments, your happiness.

Thanks but I don’t get it either. I read a lot of people preferring full metal bumpers but that looks not for everyone at least not for me.

they say the bull bar doesn’t offer real protection and could do more damage to your truck if you hit someone. I don’t plan on hitting anyone but damage is damage so either way it’s going to need repairing

I’d say the main thing is don’t post “biggest tires I can fit with no lift (or 1” or 2” etc)” that one has been done a thousand times

They can have their place and some are better than others. I have AVID bumper guards on both of ours and they are as solid and well built as a bull bar type can be. In some cases it might help and in other cases, well there is no help. damage is damage. For minor bumps and bruises, they can be helpful.....

Looking this up now to see if made for a 2010. Was it a direct bolt on?

well looks like they start at 2012’s. Dang. I’ll be sticking with the bull bar and wishing I had a spruce mica.
